The day will begin with breakfast and registration in Founders Hall on the University of Oklahoma Schusterman Campus. Following a brief welcome we will begin our breakout sessions. The General Track will include talks from a wide cross-section of the academic community. The FEWS Track will feature presentations focusing on Food, Energy and Water Systems.

We will conclude the morning with a keynote presentation from Michael Teague, Oklahoma Secretary of Energy and Environment. Secretary Teague, a civil engineer and decorated officer, spent nearly 30 years with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers before being tapped my Governor Mary Fallin to lead the newly formed Office of the Secretary of Energy & Environment (OSEE) in 2013. The lunch break and poster session will follow.

We are pleased to once again be partnering with the Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance (TRSA) to host young researchers from area schools. Last year’s Tulsa Research Kids program attracted nearly 50 students and 22 posters from 8 area schools. Student presenters from 8 to 18 were judged in Elementary, Middle and High School categories. Additional information about Tulsa Research Kids can be found at http://tulsastem.org/tulsa-research-kids/.

After the presentation of awards to the Tulsa Research Kids winners, General and FEWS track presentations will continue through 4 PM.

The final event of the day will be a FEWS Researcher Reception at the Helmerich Research Center of Oklahoma State University in downtown. The intent of this reception is to bring researcher with similar interests together at an informal event to explore possible collaboration on future projects. This year’s event will also invite researchers from other parts of the state that may be attending the Oklahoma Academy of Science Annual Technical Conference which is being held at the OSU Center for Health Sciences on Friday.

At the 8PM conclusion of the FEWS Researcher Reception OSU Tulsa will be providing tours of the Helmerich Research to anyone that is interested.
